Nicole’s journey into neurosurgery was fueled by an innate curiosity about the complexities of the human brain and a drive to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. She holds a strong academic background and has contributed to research that enhances surgical techniques and patient outcomes. Her clinical interests include functional neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and minimally invasive neurosurgical approaches.
Beyond the operating room, Nicole is an advocate for medical education and mentorship. She is actively involved in initiatives that support aspiring surgeons and works to foster an inclusive and dynamic learning environment within the field of neurosurgery. She is dedicated to lifelong learning and to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in neurosurgical care.
When she’s not on-call, Nicole enjoys time with her husband and kids, bringing meals to the field at their family farm and fishing at some of Saskatchewan’s many lakes. Slowing down and spending time outdoors helps balance the intensity of surgical training.

My family, medicine, and other relationships in my life really come down to fostering a sense of community. Whether it's a family (nuclear or extended) or a team at work, if we can trust each other and work collaboratively, we can achieve truly great things. The only way to accomplish this is by uplifting each other.
